Flexo
B.Des. Graduation project, magna cum laude, 2023
Instructed by Rona Zinger and Boaz Drori
Holon Institute of Technology

This project began as an exploration of mechanisms which operate by relying on their material's inherent flexibility and elasticity. Thermoplastic materials are ideal for such mechanisms.
My first case study for an everyday mechanical product to be converted to compliant mechanisms was a compass.

After developing a methodology for creating such compliant mechanisms, I moved on to a larger product - a desk lamp.

After a mixed process of mechanical and product design, concerned with functionality, ease of use, product legibility, and aesthetics - I arrived at the project's final product: Flexo.
