Rib and Beam Chair
Instructed by Eilon Armon
in Furniture lab
The design of this chair began with a study of the engineering, techniques and materials used in wooden airframe fabrication in the 1930's and 1940's.

The main idea I extracted from these methods of aircraft fabrication was the construction of a streamlined form using thin ribs, and beams that span the structure's width to join the ribs together.
